Sizing:

Newborn: 20 stitches cast on Best way to measure is to get circumference
6m-1yr 40 stitches cast on of the head and make a gauge swatch
Toddler-40-60 stitches to determine stitches per inch. My measurements
are more general as the hat fits with a stretch.

NOTE: When changing yarn colors, always join the new yarn at the beginning of the row.

Instructions: Simply Stockinette baby Hats

Cast on amount of stitches needed according to the sizes above or do a gauge swatch.

All Rows: knit entire rows

Row 1-40 knit entire row.

Row 41-end, begin decreasing rows by {K2tog (4x) each row }. You do this by dividing the decreases evenly like 2 decreases on each side of the hat.  Switch to DPNs when stitch count is too small to continue to use the circular needle. Bind off row. Weave in tail neatly.

The second hat above was made by using different color yarns every few rows and was cast on with 60 stitches.
